The opening of the Margarita peak, Margherita Peak, located in the Rwenzori Mountains, stands as the pinnacle of both adventure and natural splendor, ranking as the third-highest summit in Africa. Situated at an elevation of 5,109 meters (16,763 feet) above sea level, this summit was initially conquered in 1906 and continues to be a highly desired destination for mountaineers and explorers. The inauguration of Margherita Peak was a momentous event in the exploration of the Rwenzori Mountains and firmly established the range’s significance in the history of climbing.
The Uganda wildlife authority is pleased and delighted to announce the completion of the margherita trail that has got craverses and hence restricting clients from summiting. Since this happened, the Uganda Wildlife Authority has been taking action and planning on how to construct a bridge on it and finally here it is finished and ready for our clients to trek. “We are really sure that the Uganda wildlife authority has put up safety upgrades to ensure the safety of all hikers, following a temporary halt due to safety concerns.
We really give great thanks to the Uganda wildlife authority for the completion of this building bridge to cross the Margherita glacier crevasse. This bridge will make it safe to cross the difficult parts of the route, and extra climbing ropes built in coordination with our designs in the park.
Hiking to Margherita Peak is now safe to resume thanks to the implementation of these safety measures. We are sure that this wor5k done will make climbing one of Africa’s most famous peaks safer, more memorable and enjoyable for all our esteemed visitors.
However, we still call upon all our clients both international and domestic to explore not only Margherita Peak but also the other breathtaking peaks in the Rwenzori Mountains National Park, such as the Stanley range’s Mount Baker, Mount Speke, and Cheptegei Peak. The Rwenzori Mountains’ amazing diversity and beauty are showcased by every route that leads to these peaks, each of which offers a distinctive adventure.
However much the craverse has been completed, the Uganda wildlife authority is still keeping caution on the hiking paths to guarantee continued safety and will send out information as required.

6 Days Climbing Weismans peak in Rwenzori Mountains : Trek Rwenzori
There is no glacier on Weismann and no need for ropes or technical equipment, except in very poor conditions. On a clear day, the view from the top of Weismann to the Kachope Lakes below and to Mts Stanley and Baker in the distance is marvellous.
